What a little pixie! Working with Lauren in my studio at the latest Boudoir Workshop was such a pleasure. I couldn’t imagine a better muse!  Everyone adored photographing her and captured stunning images.  Lauren, you’re an awesome mix of super cute, downright sexy, and bendy :)  Thank you and I’m looking forward to our next shoot!

Vintage styling at the Viceroy… This second set is from a fun shoot that is my favorite blend of fashion, fine art nudes and lifestyle portraiture.

Then we had a little fun with the model’s fringe for a few minutes.  I let her just roll around and play with it, and here’s what she did…

An encore performance by Evie! This time, in green feathers and not much else. Her sparkling lingerie pieces are one-of-a-kind and handmade by Evie herself… and sadly, she’s retired from this craft - believe me, I begged :)  That’s okay - I just found my next rainy day project!

“When in doubt, wear red.” Bill Blass had it right… you’ll never go wrong in red.  I had the pleasure of photographing burlesque model and independent film actress Evie this past weekend at Out Of Frame studios in Hollywood.  I fell in love with the all-white canvas, and I thought it made the perfect backdrop to highlight Evie’s vibrant pops of red.  Evie reminded me of a vintage Vogue cover come to life in alabaster skin and when she walked out in this get up, I almost fainted from excitement to photograph her and feeling the pain of that tight corset!  After making sure she could breathe, I started snapping away while I asked Evie to just strut around, dance, and do her strip tease thang…

It’s absolute torture to not show you all of Genevive’s pics… her nude pics are sensual and full of energy, and are some of my favorites I’ve shot to date… if the above pic gives you any indication.  But we must respect a girl’s right to privacy :)  So here is a little peek into our recent boudoir shoot and G-rated pictures…

Genevive was an attendee at one of my Workshops, and thought my boudoir demo looked like so much fun, that she had to check it out for herself :)  Now, that’s my kinda girl!  In fact, shooting Genevive’s boudoir pics inspired me so much that a few nights later, I did my own boudoir shoot!… but we must respect a girl’s right to privacy, so you won’t be seeing those shots either!  lol!!

“Don’t drive up to San Francisco!” Carla yelled to us from her car.  She had just dropped off her 14 yr old daughter, Arianna, at my studio for a fashion-headshot-let’s-celebrate-being-fourteen photo shoot… and Carla could see how excited we were seated in my convertible with two big smiles on our faces headed for the beach.  Just two girls looking for some good clean fun and fabulous photographs.  What a phenomenally fun job I have…

We had the shoot all planned out, with three distinct looks and locations to capture all the sides of Arianna’s personality. She’s quite a complex and impressive young girl.  She’s well traveled, well educated, speaks three languages, and is remarkably mature yet still so wonderfully silly.   

We started out at the beach, just under two minutes from my studio.  Things began all innocent and sweet….

Then we moved on to a nearby park, to capture Arianna’s fun, energetic, playful side…

Lastly, we beat it back to my studio to capture the mature, beautiful, rebellious, contemplative Arianna… 

This shoot was sooooo much fun, and it’s too bad Carla showed up just in time to pick up Arianna before we got a chance to take off to San Francisco!

Kathi Berman is an extremely thoughtful and brilliant clothing designer, not to mention a total sweetheart. Her consideration of a woman’s lifestyle complements her design sensibility.  You may remember her stunning clothing from my fashion shoot for her brand Z.LARRIS - some of my favorite images this year, posted here and here.  Recently, Kathi and I hooked up again at my studio to shoot more pics for her new website, zlarris.com - but this time Kathi was in front of the camera :)

I’ve come a long way from my old school old style back in Jersey, where oh yes, I had the requisite parachute pants, fat laces, jordache jeans, and wig wam socks.  And I rocked every single one of those looks.  Nowadays, I try to hip it up a bit sometimes, but let’s face it - I think comfort is cool.  Which is why I loooove the Z.LARRIS line - most of the pieces are cashmere and every item is so yummy on my skin :))   Kathi Berman, the designer, is such a sweetheart and generously gave me a couple of my favorite pieces from her line as a Thank You after the shoot.  How cool is that?!   And today, she surprised me with the sexiest most beautiful Miriam Haskell ring I ever saw.  Yup, I still haven’t taken it off, and I’m wearing it to bed tonight… just the ring and nothing else, except of course my wig wam socks.  

THANK YOU again Kathi, for classing a girl up!
